I was in Montana visiting my best friend growing up this summer. We went out for breakfast one morning at a cute little coffee shop called Burn’s Street Bistro. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and a Mexican Mocha (that had a cute creative name that I can’t remember..). It was delicious! Then a fellow ranch wife on Instagram shared a Mexican Hot Chocolate recipe on her story recently and I remembered that awesome Mex Mocha from Montana. So, here’s my spin on it.
-1/4 cup of milk/cream of your choice (I used coconut milk.)
-1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
-Dash of chili powder
-Dash of cayenne
-Half a packet of hot cocoa mix (I use dark chocolate Swiss Miss)
1.) Pour your milk of choice in your mug and heat in microwave for 30 seconds.
2.) Add cinnamon, chili powder, cayenne and chocolate powder
3.) Top off with coffee
5.) Pour coffee mixture into blender and blend for a few seconds. I’ve found that this creates a “latte” foam and it mixes it all together so nicely.
6.) Pour back into your cup and enjoy!
