I love cherries and chocolate together. Match made in heaven! This is a super easy and quick recipe that will satisfy a sweet tooth and is also on the healthier side. So, if you're searching for a yummy oatmeal with a little twist, try this out! This recipe serves about two adults.
1/2 cup steel cut oatmeal
1 & 1/2 cups of coconut milk
1/4 cup chopped frozen cherries
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1/2 tablespoon cocoa powder
drizzle of honey
granola (I use the chocolate almond granola from Trader Joe's)
Heat up the coconut milk in a small pot on high heat until boiling.
Turn down the heat to simmer and add in the steel cut oats, frozen chopped cherries, cocoa powder, and drizzle of honey
Once the mixture has thickened, remove from heat and serve into two bowls.
Add your toppings if desired. (granola, chia seeds and sliced almonds)
